Health & Wellbeing Strategic Research Area

The Health & Wellbeing Strategic Research Area (H&W SRA) is a University wide initiative at The Open University
Since November 2016, I have been the research fellow in the H&W SRA and I have undertaken and conducted a myriad of activities, whilst supporting colleagues with their own research.
We have several Special Interests Group, and I am currently the lead for the Digital Health & Wellbeing SIG. In 2017 I organised a 1-day Digital Health & Wellbeing symposium and in 2018 I organised and hosted a 3-day Digital Health & Wellbeing International Conference. Both events were held at The Open University.
The H&W SRA has been successful in bringing in £1M of external funding, while we also support early career researchers and colleagues through a buddy/mentoring system, seed money for research projects, and collaborations with SMEs through the ACTIS project.
We are a multi-cross- and trans-disciplinary initiative & we welcome new relationships from across the Open University and externally. Whether you are an academic, charity, stakeholder, SME, business or local/national government we welcome new collaborations.
