- Spring 2026. Guest Lecture. (2026). HLSC 305-1 Health Information, Health Informatics. Muskingum University, USA.
- Autumn 2020 – Critical reader for K102, Block 6 (Technology) – Introducing Health and Social Care, The Open University. Key contributions: I conducted critical reading for Block 6 which focuses on digital technologies in a health and social care context; utilising my expertise in the digital technology and practices arena I provided contemporary insights to a fast and evolving area, ensuring literature and resources are up to date.
- February 2020 – Contribution to the Professional Doctorate (EdD and DHSC) in Health and Social Care, The Open University. Key contributions: including review, suggestions and amendments to tasks of ‘Assignment 01: Context for Research’, ‘Assignment 02: Preliminary Literature Review’, ‘End of Year 1 Assessment: Literature Review’.
- 2018-18 – Waterford Institute of Technology, Ireland. Guest lecture online to undergraduate students using Adobe Connect. Title of guest lecture ‘Multi-disciplinary work and the Health and Wellbeing Priority Research Area’.
- 2016-16 – Waterford Institute of Technology, Ireland. Guest lecture online to undergraduate students using Adobe Connect. Title of guest lecture ‘Technology Use by Adults in Later Life and the Quantified Self / Life-Logging’.
- 2015-15 – Waterford Institute of Technology, Ireland. Guest lecture online to undergraduate students using Adobe Connect. Title of guest lecture ‘Utilization of technology, research for an ageing society’.
- 2012-12 – Centre for Innovative Ageing, Swansea University, Wales. Guest lecture online to Master’s level students.
- 2011-11 – University of Waterloo, David R. Cheriton School of Computer Science. Key contributions: I developed an elective (option) module open to 3rd and 4th undergraduate students in Computer Science and Engineering. The elective ‘Digital Games, Audiences and Ageing’ explored how videogames could be used in different societal contexts. Key responsibilities included, 1) completion, submission and approval of University ethical clearance for students to complete their program of study, 2) invited guest speakers (x3), 3) preparation and delivering of 3×50 minute lectures per week for one semester, 4) marking of assignments and the mid-term exam.
- 2010-10 – Ryerson University, Toronto, ON, Canada. Guest lecture (in-person) to undergraduate students.
- 2010-10 – University of Guelph-Humber, Guelph, ON, Canada. Guest lecture (in-person) to undergraduate students.
- 2005-08 – Teesside University, School of Computing. Teaching assistant. Key contributions: ‘History of Games’ (year 1 level), ‘New Media Futures’ (year 3 level), ‘Games Futures’ (year 3 level). All three modules were year long modules delivered in the school. Key responsibilities included supporting the module lead and being the point of contact for students in seminars each week. Marking responsibilities and submission of marks on time to enable level 3 students’ marks to be discussed at the end of year examination board in preparation for graduation.
